How Often Should A Christian Pray?

Welcome to this blog and thanks for checking in!

Today we’ll be discussing on one of the most important topic in the Body Of Christ.

Our topic today is centered on (Prayer), as we all know that no believer’s relationship with Jesus is complete without prayer. Hallelujah!

How Often Should A Christian Pray?

The bible in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says “Pray without ceasing”.

What does that really mean?

Does it mean Christians should pray 24hrs without stopping?

Well, you’ll find out sooner as we proceed.

First of all let’s examine the biblical view of prayer;

What is Prayer?

Prayer is an act of fellowshipping with God.

Prayer is a means by which believers can access the spirit realm and get whatsoever God has for them.

Prayer means communicating with God.

Many people see prayer as a means of defense or a way to overcome the devil.

Well, there’s more to prayer than just requesting from God.

What is the Biblical View Of Praying Without Ceasing?

Apart from 1 Thessalonians 5:17, they’re other similar bible verses which talks about praying without ceasing.

Let’s observe some of those verses;

Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Take note of the word ceasing in the verse above.

Those that means the church prayed 24hrs for peter nonstop?

The clarity of the verse is seen in another bible translation, let’s see what NIV says;

Acts 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

We see now in the NIV bible translation that the word ceasing was replaced with earnestly.

Earnestly simply means been sincere and putting forth genuine effort while praying.

So anytime you see or read in the Bible that you should pray without ceasing, just know it simply means you should pray earnestly.

As believers we are advised to pray always both in good times and bad times.

Forget about your circumstances and go down on your knees always and talk to your maker. Hallelujah!

May the Good Lord Bless you always Amen!
